Meet Greg Brooks
Captain Greg Brooks still remembers his first offshore fishing trip in Key West like it was yesterday. As his boat cut through the azure waves toward the deep blue horizon, something clicked. The thrill of heading into open water and the raw connection between man and sea created an instant addiction that would reshape his entire boating philosophy.
Reality struck hard during his first winter fishing season. Greg quickly learned that offshore fishing requires a vessel that can safely handle whatever Mother Nature throws at you, leading him to search for a serious offshore machine.
Determined to upgrade, Greg joined the Freeman waiting list, which amounted to a few years. As his patience wore thin and perfect fishing days slipped by, a fellow angler introduced him to Encore.
When Greg took delivery of his custom Encore boat, he knew the wait had been worth it. “It’s an absolute tank” Greg said. The robust aluminum hull can shrug off impacts that would damage other boats, and Greg no longer worries when deep drop weights bang against the hull.
